Principal's Message from Mr. AbbottI invite you to join us as we work together to enable your child to realize his or her potential.

Whether we are parents in our homes or educators in our schools, I believe that  teaching is truly one of the most important tasks in any society.  We hold the responsibility of nurturing and moulding the youth of today into the leaders of tomorrow.  I have always considered myself fortunate to be an elementary school educator.

As I begin my first year of service as the Principal of North Canoe Elementary School, I reflect on the long history of success our school has earned.  Since 1955 students have attended this community school, developing the academic, artistic, athletic and social skills necessary to be capable, contributing members of our community.  I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with such a fine group of children, staff members and families.  I am a student centered leader who looks forward to bringing a thoughtful, collaborative and caring leadership style that will foster a sense of family and community within our school.

I am eager to be working with our strong staff, Parent Advisory Council and community to build a well rounded curricular and extra-curricular program, fostering growth and enjoyment in all areas of school life.  I will maintain high expectations for all and seek to meet the needs of each individual as I encourage personal, as well as, school wide progress.

Students learn best when they feel safe, loved and valued.  Please join me so that together we can build a rich learning environment for your child and all the children in our school community.

Mr. Jeff Abbott
(Principal)

These are words we know that children need to hear as they grow.
Please keep them in mind as you go through the day to day events of teaching and parenting.
